My client is on the hunt for a super star Payroll Lead to join their team. Be responsible for ensuring the swift and accurate completion of all payroll related functions. The ideal candidate has managerial experience, as they will be in charge of supervising and assigning the work to payroll administrators. You will also be in charge of following and filing all legal requirements for taxes, audits, and other reporting. Based in the Northern Suburbs!



Qualification:

Whilst a Bachelor’s Degree in finance or a related field would be beneficial

At least 5+ years’ experience in Payroll

2 years previous experience as a Payroll Supervisor or related position



Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 3 years working experience on Sage VIP PEOPLE essential

In-depth understanding of payroll procedures, laws, taxes, and best practices

Able to prioritize and manage time efficiently

Precise attention to detail

Comfortable in both a leadership and team-player role

Encouraging to team and staff; able to mentor and lead

Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality



Job Description:

Update and organize systems to manage payroll information.

Ensuring the accuracy of payroll preparation and processing, payroll accounting, tax filing and remittance, benefits maintenance and various special payments.

Keep detailed payroll records for taxes and audits.

Ensure company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements regarding payroll processes.

Prepare and submit all third party payments on time and error free.

Design, update and maintain systems procedures manuals.

Set-up new employee information and accounts.

On-board new employees concerning time entry systems and methods.

Manage and develop the payroll team; supervise and assign tasks to assistants.

Work with accounting team, finance team, and HR.

Strict adherence to internal company policies.

Responding to inquiries related to payroll and providing guidance on the prevailing laws governing payroll and income taxes, employee benefits, garnishments, reimbursement policies and other statutory pay related entitlements.

Managing all payroll reports, time sheets, individual attendance and production records, and other related documentation.

Ensure all data is updated within the organizational Human Resources Employee Self Service (ESS) system in a timely manner.

Ensure that leave is accurately and timeously captured and that the accrued leave is managed monthly, including leave in lieu of overtime.

Prepare PAYE bi-annually (February and August) returns and reconciliations to SARS and submitting information through Easi-File.

Administer all instructions from SARS re IT88 and debt collection from Employees on behalf of SARS.

Update payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in taxation, exemptions, deductions and job titles and transfers.

Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, etc.

Determine payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee taxes, other statutory and third party deductions.
