Our client, a leading citrus frontier company is seeking to employ an experienced Payroll Manager in the Addo / Kirkwood area

Main purpose of this role will be overseeing the compensation and benefits division of a company, analysis of compensation data within an organization and evaluation of job positions to determine classification and salary.  Secondary objective is to administer employee insurance, pension and savings plans and work with the company insurance broker.

Requirements:

  • Sound working knowledge  of VIP people payroll system
  • Business Degree ideally with Finance and/or HR focus will be advantageous
  • MS Office advanced level (MS Excel, PowerPoint)
  • At least 5 - 6 years experience in a Compensation and Benefits role
  • At least 5 -6 years supervisory experience within a payroll environment
  • Working knowledge of BCEA, EEA, LRA, SDA and OHSA
  • Working knowledge of Job Evaluation and Grading processes systems

Duties:

  • Plan, direct, supervise and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labour relations and employee relations
  • Analyze compensation policies, government regulations, and prevailing wage rates to develop competitive compensation plan
  • Identify and implement benefits to increase the quality of life for employees, by working with brokers and researching benefits issues
  • Coordinates compensation processes like the salary planning, bonus planning and incentive schemes development and revision
  • Oversee pension and savings plans
  • Draw up budget forecast for salary increases
  • Lead and coordinate negotiation of collective agreements on behalf of employer
  • Administer and manage employee insurance plans
  • Research job and worker requirements, structural and functional relationships among jobs and occupations, and occupational trends
  • Contribute to the formulation of policies, procedures and programs for recruitment, testing, placement, classification, orientation, benefits and compensation
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as new appointments, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates
  • Contract with vendors to provide employee services, such as food services, transportation, or relocation service
