PAYROLL MANAGER
R600 000 to R750 000 tctc

Company has a centralised payroll function at its H.O

THE ROLE (SUMMARY)

Reporting through to the Compensation and Reward Executive; Manage the entire payroll function / centralised payroll Department. Manage the end to end payroll processing from data capture through to final release of payments for both monthly (salaried) and weekly(wages) paid staff.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Department Management:

Manage payroll team of 4 people, which includes Payroll administrators , data capturing and benefits administrator.
Manage Departmental budget.
Manage and improve payroll systems

Payroll Processing:

Manage the input of data from the various branches
Ensure systems in place to adequately cater for accurate paying of wage staff, new joiners, overtime, wage staff, etc
Manage the processing of payroll by payroll administrators to ensure timeous and accurate payroll processing.
Generation of various payroll reports and checks.
Prepare payroll for final sign off
Process payments through bank and into accounts of employees
Manage the generation of IRP 5 certificates.
Interface with Accounts Dept where appropriate
Ensure the payroll System and software are up to date and functional.
Ensure timeous and accurate payment of third parties incl SARS, Retirement Funds,Medical Aid,UIF, SDL, etc
Requirements:

Matric
Payroll qualification an advantage.
Min 10 years experience in payroll of which at least 4 years has been in managing a large payroll which covers 4000 employees or more.
Experience in managing or processing payroll from end to end is essential. “Full Payroll Management “experience.
Experience with a varied payroll ie wages as well as salaries. The candidate would therefore Ideally comes from retail, FMCG or wholesale industry
Payroll management experience of a business with numerous branches country wide.
Experience with ”Sage300”/ Sage People” is an advantage but not essential.
Able to think strategically
