Minimum 5 - 10 years’ payroll experience

Ability to manage and develop a team

Sage VIP Premier experience

Payroll of 3500 people



Job Description:

Oversee the accurate and timely preparation and processing of month and weekly payroll; including overtime, new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, deductions, rate changes, retroactive adjustments and special pays, prepare tax reports and research and produce special reports.

Supervise, lead and develop Payroll Administrators.

Review and reconcile monthly accounts and ensure accurate payment to third parties.

Process files to import and export to different software – upload payroll bank file, monthly journals to general ledger, ensuring that imbalances are rectified.

Liaise with the Financial Manager with queries related to the different GL’s and Trial Balances across all companies.

Understand and reconcile leave and bonus provision transactions.

Interpret company policies and government regulations affecting payroll tax issues.

Review personnel records to determine names, rates of pay and position titles of newly hired employees and changes in wage rates and occupation of employees on payroll.

Respond to notifications from government agencies or others regarding former employment, current employment, unemployment claims filed by former or existing employees.

Coordination of efforts between payroll, human resources and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data including preparation / distribution of detailed reports.

Drive process improvements and synergies.

Advise and support implementation to all divisions on uniformity of payroll systems.

Ensure consistent and efficient payroll function.

Provide assistance with internal and external auditors.

Ensure internal control and compliance in the payroll department.

Drive increase and bonus processes.

Assist with ad hoc queries.

Assist the Remuneration Manager with ad hoc tasks.
