Pharmaceutical/Cosmetics Production Manager (W277)
*ND or BSc in a science related field and at least 5 years’ experience in manufacturing in a pharmaceutical or cosmetics environment; must have previous supervisory or management experience; valid driver’s license and own transport are essential.*
Location: Albertinia, Western Cape
Description: A manufacturer of skincare and health and wellness products that is situated on the Garden Route is looking for a Production Manager. Key performance areas will include: planning and scheduling the manufacturing and packing of products within set quality parameters; maximizing the utilization of all resources available to production; supplying the marketing department with finished goods, on time and within specifications; management of raw materials requirements and stock, inclusive of containers/packaging; adding value and contributing to the overall company strategy and success; contributing to the strategic direction of the organization; managing business risks which may occur in the organization; managing the overall manufacturing function in the organisation, as defined above; managing and developing production department in line with company vision, mission and values; effective and efficient management of human resources in the production department; ensuring that all stakeholders are treated in line with the Company vision, mission and values; ensuring that a professional image is created of the business and its products; building constructive relationship with Marketing Department; ensuring that all the production department is compliant with all regulatory requirements (i.e. BCEA, LRA, OHSAct etc.); managing the good Corporate Governance is practiced at all times in the above department; managing Product Quality Control and Quality Assurance functions and oversee the standards and procedures in the organisation, including documenting, implementing and controlling of procedures; compiling and controlling Product Master Documentation; overseeing the Laboratory and perform audits on product batch documentation and GMP; staying abreast of relevant statutory and regulatory requirements and changes, ensuring that processes and products are compliant; assisting and control new product development process; consulting with production regarding best practice and ensure that high standards are maintained; controlling, auditing and managing technical relationship with 3rd party suppliers; ensuring that technical data of all products are accurate at all time; assisting all departments by providing technical support to customers and staff and contributing to the overall strategy of the organisation.
Key Requirements: ND or BSc in a science related field and at least 5 years’ experience in manufacturing in a pharmaceutical or cosmetics environment; must have previous supervisory or management experience; good knowledge of GMP and regulatory environment; good understanding of a formulatory environment; valid driver’s license and own transport are essential.
Additional Requirements: Excellent people skills; ability to plan effectively and be very structured by nature; willing to work flexible hours based on production needs; must speak Afrikaans and English and carry the professional image of the business.
