Our client in the automotive industry is looking to employ a Pilot Hall Engineer with a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering

ESSENTIAL:

  • Have a National  Diploma in Electrical Engineering with an electrical trade including 5 year post apprenticeship experience or a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • A minimum of 3 year’s experience in vehicle manufacturing or related field
  • Basic programming knowledge and understanding of vehicle electronics (such as the various CAN buses)
  • Have proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must be willing to work three shifts 
  • Have creativity, innovation and attention to detail
  • Have report writing and presentation skills
  • Have the ability to work well under pressure and to make sound decisions
  • Have a high level of technical knowledge and IT skills
  • Be computer literate in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word with a basic understanding of CAD viewer)
  • Have sound organization and Project Management skills
  • Have the ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary team with other Engineers

PREFERRED:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in engineering packages ( CATIA, CAD)

Duties:

·       Establishing root causes and implementing corrective actions for allocated problems.

·       Providing support to production with regards to vehicle electric/electronics (i.e. Motor control unit coding, harness testing and looking after the test/programming equipment).

·       Using vehicle diagnostic system (Engineering tools) to repair vehicle electronic issues.

·       Supporting with prototype vehicles/ramp up process for vehicle electronics of new models or facelifts.

·       Having the ability to code/program vehicles, read harness/CAD diagram for fault finding and repairs.

·       Presenting findings/ reports at various forums.

·       Interfacing with various departments.

·       Liaising with overseas counterparts with regards to build, quality matters.

·       Developing test methods and plans for new features and technologies.
