Our client, a leading Diamond Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Planner at their Mine in Koffiefontein the the Free State Province.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Co-ordinate the mining, construction or maintenance of production, projects or mobile/fixed plant according to
the planned schedule.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Adhere to the Mine’s safety, health and environmental programmes
Continuously monitor trends and critical paths in construction; production and equipment compliance or failure and advise the
Section Manager, Section Engineer and Engineering Foremen accordingly to ensure continuous improvement
Co-ordinate the planning / scheduling management system
Determine schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel
Ensure effective cost saving initiatives
Examine production, construction or equipment and analyse information to determine needed adjustments, modifications, services or repairs
Identify and complete inventory list of production, construction or maintenance related equipment
Maintain records of production, construction or maintenance and component replacement or repairs
Oversee the lifespan of the machinery and equipment
Perform failure analysis on main line equipment
Prepare detailed specifications for the work to be carried out at the scheduled intervals
Prepare schedules for maintenance of equipment according to technical specifications and organisational standards
Receive information on modifications, maintenance or repair work carried out on equipment, outside of the schedule of maintenance
Record, analyse and verify data
Supervise Planner Clerks

Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12
Valid Trade Test Certificate** / or Engineering Technical Diploma
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an engineering maintenance environment
Computer Literate – MS Office Suite
Sound knowledge and application of computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS), Pragma or equivalent –
please indicate on your CV
Knowledge and application of Project Management software (e.g. Microsoft Projects or PrimaVera) – please indicate on your CV
Valid Driver’s License
Two years Supervisory experience or Supervisory Development Programme – an advantage
Diploma in Project Management – an advantage

** Candidates holding a QCTO (Section 26D) Trade Test, where the learning route is not specified on the Certificate, must submit the
following: Statement of results issued by an accredited MQA trade test centre as well as evidence of training conducted at a technical
training centre (e.g. Portfolio of Evidence, Logbooks). Should these documents not be submitted the application will not be considered.

Other Skills/Competencies:
Able to communicate in English (written & verbal)
Sound knowledge and application of: preventative maintenance principles and systems; root cause analysis (RCA); reliability
centred maintenance (RCM); failure modes effect and criticality analysis (FMECA) processes
Basic knowledge of financial management systems
Experience in implementation and operation of CMMS, knowledge of latest developments and trends in asset management
Project management skills - project planning, scheduling – including project management software
Attention to detail; Accuracy; Planning; Pro-active; Problem solving; Professionalism; Interaction with all levels of work; Taking
corrective action
