Leading manufacturer of specialty chemicals for water treatment, pulp & paper, and leather industries has a Plant Administrator position available at their Hammarsdale Branch. The successful incumbent will report to the Plant Manager and will possess the following:

Preference will be given to candidates who reside in or around the Hammarsdale area.

1. Candidates require 3 years office administration and/or secretarial experience
2. A National Diploma in Office Management/Business Communications or equivalent (NQF 5) qualification is required
3. Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing environment will be an added advantage
4. Effective communication and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure are required
5. Must be willing to work overtime as and when required.
6. A driver’s license
7. Computer literacy
8. Good command of the English language is a necessity.

Salary and Benefits breakdown
Basic salary: R12 803pm

Provident fund: The company will contribute 7.5% of basic salary and the associate will be required to contribute a minimum of 7.5%. The associate can choose to make an additional provident fund contribution at their own cost.

Medical Aid: The Company will pay 50% of the Discovery Essential Saver Plan contribution to the Company’s Medical Aid Scheme and the associate will pay 50%. If the associate chooses a higher medical plan, the difference will be for the associate’s

The incumbent will be responsible for the following inter alia:

• Provide administrative support to the Plant and Purchasing Departments
• Manage travel arrangements (flights, accommodation, vehicle hire) for the relevant departments as required
• Managing meetings effectively
• Managing of consignment store
• Supporting the procurement officers with new supplier set-up
• Execute continuous improvement and project management initiatives
• Performing 5S coordination activities
• Support legislative compliance
• Support ISO compliance activities
• Generation of SDSs and PDSs
• Support risk mitigation activities,
• Co-ordinating Standard Operating Procedure documentation

The job calls for a self driven, independent and motivated person who will provide effective and professional office support to the Manufacturing team, as related to their duties and to their goals. Therefore the successful candidate will be required to have strong technical administrative skills.
