PLANT ENGINEER
Purpose of the job:
To manage Maintenance systems and processes in accordance with statutory and regulatory Engineering standards

PROCESS:
Reliability Engineering:
• Improve Operational Equipment Efficiencies (OEE)
• Identify critical equipment as per Critical Equipment Guidelines
• Evaluate Maintenance & Reliability KPI's in order to identify potential improvement opportunities
• Manage the Breakdown analyses process
• Recommend Technical Changes (Engineering standards, specifications, etc.)
• Provide technical support to the Maintenance team

Maintenance Planning:
• Develop and manage the Maintenance programme (SAP)
• Maintain and update Maintenance plans
• Schedule and arrange Maintenance and repairs for production operations

Maintenance Management/Supervision:
• Develop, maintain and update Engineering Maintenance procedures and standards in line with legislation and industry best practices
• Analyze and interpret Maintenance data, assess deviations and initiate corrective actions
• Implement new Maintenance programmes and coordinate predictive and preventive Maintenance
• Perform routine plant inspections to identify non conformances

Stock Control:
• Monitor critical stock items and determine optimum stock levels for effective servicing of plant and equipment

Design:
• Design basic mechanical components

Maintenance:
• Analyse and solve complex mechanical problems
• Coordinate the refurbishment/overhauling of machines

Draughting:
• Establish client requirements and gather and apply required design information
• Ensure the integrity of the Mechanical Drawing System

Projects:
• Manage a project team of a technical project to deliver project objectives
• Contribute to project initiation, scope definition and scope change control
• Participate in the estimation and preparation of cost budget and draft schedules for a project or sub project
• Contribute to the management of project risk within own field of expertise
• Develop a simple schedule to facilitate effective project execution
• Monitor, evaluate and communicate simple project schedules
• Identify, suggest and implement corrective actions to improve quality of project work
• Conduct project documentation management to support project processes
• Provide procurement technical support to a project (Specification approval, tender adjudication, etc.)
• Provide assistance in implementing and assuring project work meets quality requirements
