FMCG Food Plant Operations Manager, Northern Suburbs, Cape Town

Well established Food FMCG Company is looking for a Plant Operations Manager with 6-7 years’ experience with in the FMCG Food Industry.

Salary – Market Related / Very Negotiable (Medical Aid and Pension included in CTC)

Minimum Requirements:
• Matric, with a Food / Engineering / Production related qualification / degree
• 6-7 years’ experience within FMCG industry
• 5 years Senior Managerial experience within FMCG industry.
• Logistics and Scheduling experience.
• Experience of FMCG manufacturing – high volume food manufacturing including forming and coating.
• Knowledge of advanced food hygiene and Health and Safety requirements in food manufacturing
• Knowledge of HR procedures.
• A good understanding of quality assurance, procedures and protocols.
• Understanding of industry and retailer audit requirements.
• Knowledge of management techniques including KPI’s, recruitment, selection and development of people.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Key Responsibilities:
• Managing plant operations and staff from day to day (Profit & Loss)
• Manages all Processes and accountabilities thereof
• Full responsibility of the receiving, cold store, grinding, blending, forming, packing, despatch, equipment maintenance and security
• Ensure to Comply with weekly and monthly supply planning requirements
• Effective Utilisation of labour hours/rates to maximise product yields, specifications, compliances and minimize downgrades and waste
• Deliver product quality standards and food safety/ hygiene standards
• Ensure product quality through utilization of analytical tools, product specifications, quality attribute sheets and full traceability.
• External and internal customer interaction at a senior level
• Complete and analyse the weekly direct cost variance report and reconcile previous production week performance to standard
• Product / Market order fill and quality
• Financial and Productivity – Complete and analyse weekly direct cost variance reports
