Preventive Maintenance Engineer

Internationally established Manufacturing Company based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town has an opportunity available for a dynamic Preventive Maintenance Engineer to join their team.

Minimum Requirements:

BTech in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 2 years similar practical experience in a plant or manufacturing environment
Proactive and methodical with a hands-on and technical approach
Excellent communication skills with the ability to perform under pressure
Valid driver's license with own transport

Knowledge Required:

Strong understanding of mechanical engineering practices (motors, shafts, belts, lubrication and bearings)
Ability to interpret and understand technical designs, drawings and materials
Understanding of a manufacturing or plant working environment
Electrical knowledge (PLC units, drives and wiring) will be advantageous

Key Areas of Responsibility:

All preventative maintenance schedules of the plant
Diagnosis, interpretation and resolving of mechanical problems on plant
Management of employees within department
Coordination of administrative requirements of the plant
Management of procurement requirements of the plant
Quality control of maintenance department
