Key Performance Outputs

Pricing Excellence:
• Responsible for the creation of optimal pricing strategies across the PEH company portfolio, in the South African private and public markets and relevant countries in Southern Africa
• Perform price sensitivity modelling / quantitative pricing research for price optimisation
• Formulate tender bids in coordination with local and global teams
• Maintain a high level of competitive pricing intelligence through the understanding of payer requirements and priorities, and provide input into strategy through local payer insights
• Recommend optimal pricing considering international price referencing dynamics; follow the price evolution in
• reference countries to anticipate any price changes and quantify their impact
• Responsible for all pricing aspects for South Africa and relevant countries in Southern Africa
• Maintain expertise in local access legislation and competitor market access to drive optimal pricing strategies
• Develop and promote win-win solutions for negotiations with payers

Value Proposition Creation:
• Determine the South African need for value messaging, to support market access and commercial strategies, and review available global value propositions for appropriateness
• Work with the Health and Value Lead, medical and commercial colleagues to develop and execute cross-functionally integrated local payer value messages

Minimum Requirements
• BPharm /MBBCh /BSc or and equivalent Health Sciences qualification; and
• A demonstrated track record of at least 8 – 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a healthcare payer
• Experience in Pricing analyses and strategy, Financial modelling
• Evaluation of clinical and economic literature
• Preparation of value dossiers
• Excellent MS Excel skills
• Knowledge of the local healthcare system and its major players and decision-makers
