KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Reporting to the Manager: Mergers & Acquisitions, the successful candidate will:

Investigate merger cases notified to the company in terms of the Act and accompanying rules and make recommendations to decision makers
Conduct research and provide advice to decision makers on the impact of mergers in the economy
Monitor merger conditions
Lead, supervise and provide guidance to a small team of merger analysts

Assist the Divisional Manager with the strategic planning, staff management and development as well as general, administration of the Mergers and Acquisitions Division.

REQUIREMENTS:

An LLM or Master’s degree in Economics plus at least 7-10 practical experience in complex economic and legal analysis of which 3 years must have been at a managerial level;

The successful candidate should also have a solid understanding of the purpose and objectives of the Act, the company and the South African economy and business environment; an aptitude for investigation, research, analysis and strategy development, management experience;
Experience in team participation; professional skills in the area of law/economics; good written and verbal communication skills; good inter-personal skills and computer literacy.
