Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
• Responsible for achieving the production objectives for milling, mashing, fermentation, distillation and effluent treatment
• Manage assets in order to achieve short, medium and long term objectives
• Manage and develop subordinates in order to meet production efficiencies & throughput
• Compile and control the budget for milling, mashing, fermentation, distillation and effluent
• Maintain the necessary reporting and stock controlling on SAP
• Manage the procurement and liaise with raw material suppliers
• Member of the Wellington tasting panel
• Support and drive the Empowering Excellence effort in relevant teams
• Ensure that the relevant ISO 9001 & 14001 systems are improved and adhered to on a continuous basis
• Ensure that ICC and other standards are adhered to
• Assist and support Distillery Manager as required

The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:
• A degree in one of the natural sciences would be an advantage
• Strong leadership qualities
• Knowledge of fermentation & distillation processes would be an advantage
• Knowledge of a UASB reactor for effluent treatment would be an advantage
• Strong communication, conflict handling and problem solving skills
• Strong administrative abilities are necessary
• Strong numerical skills for forecasting and planning
• Fully bilingual – English and Afrikaans
• Must be able to work accurately under pressure
• Health and safety knowledge is required
• Excellent computer literacy skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, SCADA)
• At least 5 year’s supervisory experience in a production environment, with a proven track record
