MISSIONS
To support, communicate, and coordinate the plant’s needs regarding Process, Production and Engineering issues while continuously seeking optimization and bring about continuous improvement. The Process Department exists to Analyse; Audit & Optimize.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA & RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety
Demonstrate commitment to Health and Safety through personal actions eg. VFLs or PTOs etc
Conduct Job Safety Analysis for the critical process tasks conducted by direct reports
Lead/participate in an accident investigation team and propose corrective actions
Engage employees to talk about how to improve safety practices in the workplace
Technical
Maintain plant technical improvement/optimization plans
Accountable for process optimization pertaining to company guidelines and policies
Deliver and maintain robust records of plant optimum and actual operating values and process audits for all major equipment, especially those related to process (temperatures, pressures, flows, chemistry analysis, physical data)
Perform major equipment audits (pyrolines, raw mills and cement mills) and follow up implementation of the recommendations
Coach the Process Engineers and Process Technicians to develop their technical skills
Develop and execute process inspections and routes
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures in conjunction with Production
Skills and authority to supervise, redefine an industrial project and make recommendations for innovations
Automation
Maintain / improve plant control strategies eg. PIDs, QMC
Develop and optimize automation strategies for all major pieces of equipment (Mills, Kilns, Coolers) and implement them into LUCIE.
Cost Mastery
Apply fully the 10 Golden rules on SHC and SPC
Develop and implement the Excellence action plans on SHC, SPC, AFs, ARMs, Grinding aid
Set objectives for Alternative Fuels and develop an AF mindset in the plant
Make full use of POM to build synergies internal and external to the plant

REQUIRED SKILLS
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is required.
Solid experience in heavy process industry. Experienced with background in middle management including technical, process and project management
