Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is the tenth largest Coca-Cola bottling partner worldwide and the biggest on the African continent. We serve 12 countries in sub-Saharan Africa including South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, Namibia, Mayotte, Comoros, Swaziland, Botswana and Zambia. The latter three countries will be integrated into CCBA’s operations over the next 12 to 18 months.

JOB OBJECTIVES - GENERAL:
Ensure that plant and process efficiencies are optimized by continually evaluating process performance and conducting surveys to establish where improvements can be made.
Troubleshoot to identify whether the root of grade discrepancies are metallurgical, operational or maintenance-related and ensure that the necessary action is taken and / or setting adjustments made.
Monitor the quality of the products by ensuring that samples are taken according to procedure and that trends are analyzed to scrutinize grade consistency.
Evaluate and research new technologies that could enhance process and equipment performance.
Monitor inconsistencies between lab and plant samples and make corrections where required.
Provide solutions to process / metallurgical problems.
Maintain and improve safety, health and environmental standards and practices.
Perform fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the supervisor.
Perform after hour’s standby duties as and when required by the operations.
Supervise and control the activities, standards of performance and behaviour of designated subordinate staff.
Provide technical advice and assistance in order to transfer expertise and thereby enhance the training and development of subordinates.
Compile relevant metallurgical training manuals and ensure that all staff is informed of new technology, techniques, and equipment and process changes.
Stand in for the Production Superintendent and Metallurgical Specialist when required.
Assume temporary operational control of specified plants for project installations, re-commissioning, etc. to ensure
that new processes are optimized.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
National Higher Diploma / B.Tech / B.Sc in Metallurgy / Geology / Chemical Engineering
1 Year associated experience in heavy Industry or Mining.
Driver’s License: EB (Code 08)

Computer literacy: SAP; MS Office
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Well-developed administrative & numerical skills
Excellent analytical ability
Sound mentoring skills – the ability to identify and train subordinate staff
