A Well Established Manufacturig firm in Port Elizabeth is seeking to employ a Process Technician

Qualifications / Requirements 

• Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering, minimum
• Physically fit to perform key job functions, including climbing in and out of containers, working at heights and performing manual tasks involving equipment and fixtures
• Conversant with the principles of Fabrication and Process in a manufacturing environment
• 3D Mechanical Design capabilities using Autodesk Inventor- high level of competency
• Minimum of 6 years of manufacturing experience
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lead and run meetings
• Shortlisted candidates must be prepared to undergo an interview and assessment process, which will be in order to determines an applicant’s problem- solving abilities; practical, written and verbal ability and understanding of Inventor
• Experience in Process and tank containers, preferred

Key Performance Areas:

• Pre- production activities:
  • Liaise with Drawing and Marketing office regarding new processes or manufacture of new parts for tenders or new jobs,
  • Attend pre- production meetings, compile lists of points requiring attention and discuss these issues with concerned parties,
  • Compile lists of jigs, templates ad equipment required for new jobs, and ensure that these are available timeously,
  • Fabricate and assemble jigs and fixtures
• Works instructions activities:
  • Maintain current works instructions,
  • Update works instructions to include updated methods and improvements, or highlight where special attention is needed,
  • Liaise with Training and Production departments to ensure that new methods are implemented
• Equipment activities:
  • Maintain a list of all equipment in production area including jigs, templates and production aids,
  • Motivate for purchase of new equipment, compare and evaluate between alternative suppliers,
  • Once commissioned, sign off acceptance of new equipment,
  • Compile and submit reports for the initial motivation or justification and verification of actual versus proposed savings, factoring labour and/ or time
• Manufacturing capability:
  • Automate various Processes and Machines to reduce- and preferably eliminate- operator error,
  • Ensure that new and existing equipment meets with the required specifications,
  • Prove work methods and update works instructions when required,
  • Liaise with Training and Production for training, hand over process to Production
  • Compile and submit reports for the initial motivation or justification and verification of actual versus proposed savings, factoring labour and/ or time
• Investigations:
  • Evaluate process problems and make recommendations on solving
