Procurement Officer
CONTRACT POSITION 5 Years
One of the top Housing Company that operates in all four corners of South Africa is currently recruiting for a Procurement officer. Purpose of the job will be to ensure that goods and services are procuredat competitive prices and as per set specifications to facilitate operational effectiveness

Education, Training and Experience
•A valid Grade 12 Certificate
•A degree/relevant qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Purchasing or Buying
•A minimum of three (3) to four (4) years’ experience in a Government/Public/Local procurement and supply chain environment
•Experience in working with Pastel for purchasing and payment processes
•Strong negotiation skills
•Knowledge of contracts and agreements


Key performance areas
• Manage the whole process of Supply Chain Management and advise the Company of correct implementation of SCM
• Manage execution of the procurement plan for the entire organisation
• Obtain quotations as per requisitions from various Departments whilst ensuring compliance with the MFMA supply chain management requirements
• Ensure compliance to prescripts of applicable legislation when procuring goods and services
• Manage and monitor the Company’s supplier database whilst creating an enabling environment for
BBBEE suppliers
• Invite tenders by approved methods and co-ordinate public opening of tenders as well as ensure that they are on the tender register
• Coordinate tender evaluation and adjudication committees’ meetings
• Advise the Bid Evaluation Committee on the correct criteria to select a successful tender
• Create and maintain a filing system for both successful and unsuccessful Tenders
• Compile supporting documents for payment purposes
• Maintain an adequate filing system.
