Procurement Superintendent – (2 year fixed term contract)

Procurement of Goods and Services would not be sourced and acquired timeously according to specification and at optimum cost to the company. Company ethics, Policy and Procedures would not be adhered to.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
• Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the purchasing activities and performances of the project.
• Managing the operational aspects of the Procurement function ensuring continuity of supply and value to the business
• Develop and/or review procurement policies and procedures, ethics and control procurement budget
• Develop, implement and maintain Procurement Operating Plan (POP) and coordinate deviations with end users / suppliers
• Identify and agree on bidders lists, pre-qualification of vendors where applicable and coordination, maintaining good and ethical relationships
• Comply to the project preferential procurement policy and execute sourcing strategy for low cost procurement
• Coordinate procurement activities and interface with EPCM / EPC consultants
• Participate in and engage end users in the development of scope of work for work packages, specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials and supply requirements
• Negotiate full economic value for each package
• Review and process claims and back charges against suppliers
• Ensure knowledge transfer to subordinates
• Manage the SHEQ aspects of Procurement

Intrinsic Qualities
• Extensive Procurement knowledge and experience in a Mega Project environment is required
• Practical experience in a mega project environment.

• B-Degree or Relevant Procurement Qualification
• SAP – PTP Process Module – Daily – Super User
• All Audit requirements and procedures – Daily
• SHEQ – Daily
