Key technical representative for Cavalier Group. Responsible for the development, implementation, verification, monitoring, reporting and improvement of the technical Cavalier Quality Management System within the various group sites - including raw material, manufacturing process and final product control, technical trials and technical customer liaison.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have own transport
• Must live near Cullinan
• Degree in Foods Science (non-negotiable)
• Post-graduate degree in a Related field (preferred)
• FMCG industry experience
• Technical: 5 years
• Supervisory 3 – 5

Team Management
• Manage and coordinate the technical product and process control teams and their required functions at the various company sites, including Halaal Retail and Wholesale, Biltong, Non-Halaal, Abattoirs and Butchery Counters
• Advise and strategically assist line manager
• Supervise, manage and control subordinates and their activities to ensure targets are met.
• Supervise time and attendance of direct subordinates.
• Ensure disciplinary procedures are applied adequately.
• Assure stable employee relations by managing conflict and creating a positive and performing working environment.

Technical Relationships
• Build and maintain a technical relationship with all customers
• Liaise and feedback on all client enquiries within 48 hours or as specified
• Represent Cavalier or ensure representatives are available at the various sites for plant walk-throughs.
• Build good relationships and trust between Cavalier sites and departments while ensuring a zero tolerance to non-conformances in the aim to grow a Quality Culture within Cavalier.

Product and Process Control
• Establish and improve product and process control procedures and other systems tools, ensuring continues compliance to customer and regulatory requirements with practical consideration.
• Complete technical aspects of new/trial product roll-out, formalize specifications and implement its manufacturing at the different production sites.
• Conduct and/or commission risk assessments and design/implement adequate control measures for all product and manufacturing processes.
• Verify production processes with regards to customer specifications and ensure compliance by operational departments.
• Maintain a zero tolerance to customer complaints, oversee complaint investigations and monitoring.
• Schedule, commission and monitor micro sampling of all raw material and final products.
• Improve and enforce procedures and controls to prevent cross-contamination (physical, micro and allergen).
• Verify and maintain product and process related quality records and monitoring.
• Oversee compliance of product and process control equipment.
• Ongoing training of staff.

Quality Management Systems Implementation
• Plan, represent and/or ensure adequate representation of Cavalier during product and process control related audits at the various sites, i.e. WW Hygiene and/or Process Control Audits, SAMIC FR Audits etc.
• Improve, implement and verify best practices continuously at the various sites.
• Ensure all sites are always prepared for External Audits.
• Commission Internal audits to ensure compliance to the requirements

SHEQ
• Maintain product and process quality and hygiene standards at all times.
• Ensure acceptable personal hygiene of all staff at all times.
• Ensure correct use of PPE at all times.
• All duties should be performed according to the Cavalier group Occupational Health and Safety guidelines and procedures.
