Our client is looking for a Product Engineer to be based in Cape Town.

A vacancy for a Product Engineer in the Cape Town Manufacturing Workshop is available. 

DUTIES:

• Design of Screw Compressor packages, Chiller Packages and related equipment
• Managing quality and cost during manufacturing
• Develop and maintain costing programs for various packages
• Assist sales department with costing of packages
• Open projects in Axapta
• Review design criteria and check technical selection
• Produce drawings and obtain customer approval
• Schedule production and maintain production program
• Assist with material procurement
• Control costing on projects
• Control and document testing and certification of product
• Assists with the development of the product design and functionality
• Identify any problems with the implementation or available resources that may affect the schedule or budget and communicates such problems accordingly
• Analyses the risks of a new design or process and communicates results to the Head of Production
• Provides support to manufacturing to ensure product is fabricated and assembled based on the intended functionality of the design
• Interfaces with others in the organisation and customers to jointly determine customer needs and solutions
• You will be required to work overtime as and when required in order to meet deadlines
• We require a disciplined and self-motivated individual, someone able to make decisions, work within a team environment and be able to work under pressure without supervision. Our candidate must be driven about service delivery to our customers both internally and externally

REQUIREMENTS:

• Computer literate (experienced in AXAPTA, MS Excel, Word and Outlook)
• Valid driver’s license
• Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma
