Main Functions:
This position ensures that we have a range of exclusive and competitive travel products to offer to customers in line with ongoing Travel and distribution objectives.
Key Performance Areas:
• To contract new product, renew rates, and negotiate competitive rates and specials within responsible destinations.
• To manage the relationship with relevant suppliers, service providers and partners to ensure the best marketing opportunities and website fulfilment.
• To research destination and product information and facilitate web content requirements.
• Managing the product within the travel brands.
• To train and communicate information relating to the product or a specific destination to internal travel consultants in order for them to increase and promote sales and to answer customer enquiries.
• To communicate destination product information to internal marketing partners in order to promote the product through advertising.
• To analyse the competitive nature of travel products in order to meet sales objectives.
Special Requirements:
• Grade 12 (Essential)
• GDS qualification (Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo or Worldspan) Essential
• Tertiary Qualification in Travel and Tourism, marketing or sales (Desirable)
• 5 years wholesale tour operator experience (essential)
With Specific Experience In:
• Managing the Indian Ocean islands product (Desirable)
• Working with different types of contracts and contract terminology (i.e. airfare, transfers and varied hotel contract) for at least 2 years (Essential)
• Managing of rates in a reservations system for at least 2 years (Essential)
• Creating, managing or using Excel costings (Essential)
• Researching, negotiating rates and deals, marketing and leveraging co-operative supplier opportunities for at least 2 years (essential)
• Reservations experience (Desirable)
• Meeting and networking with suppliers (Desirable)
• South-African citizens only!
