Leading pharmaceutical manufacturer seeks a suitably qualified / experienced Product Manager with Hospital Product Management experience to join their dynamic team.

Salary package: Negotiable (including corporate benefits)

Purpose of Position:

To evaluate the strategic, commercial and scientific aspects of Hospital portfolio and manage all aspects of marketing of products within portfolio.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Medical Degree (BSc. Degree, B.Dietetics, B.Cur Nursing or B.Pharm)
Strong knowledge and understanding of the pharmaceutical sales & marketing sector
Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in hospital product management
Demonstrated product management skills with strong managerial abilities
Experience in conceptualizing and formulating strategies for new Hospital products
Strong planning, numerical and budgeting skills
Technical orientated with Advanced computer literacy in Excel
Cross Departmental thinking approach and strategic orientation
Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and highly organized
Able to analyze numerical data and present in a logical manner
Scientific approach (able to source, analyze, present, discuss and apply scientific information on advisory board, medical aid, customer and sales force level.)
Work under high levels of pressure (periodically long working hours)
Assertive and Confident, well-presented person
Responsible and reliable, Self-motivated and professional

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Planning

Conceptualizing and formulating strategies for new Hospital products in both the medium and the long term for approval by the GPM and Marketing Executive
Gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements
Developing relationships with key clients and opinion leaders in order to conduct market research
Preparation of marketing plans and budgets
Preparing innovative promotional inputs for implementation of marketing strategies
Active participation in forecasting for stock projections
Ensure new marketing material sign-offs are initiated timeously to take workload of other colleagues into account and by following relevant SOP’s

Management

Ensuring effective brand management and brand building activities
Managing products through the life cycle
Managing and initiating patient support programmes
Achieving top and bottom lines as per organizational goals
Budgeting and allocation of resources
Tracking marketing spend monthly in accordance with relevant SOP
Making pricing recommendations to meet revenue and profitability goals
Recommend sales incentives
Work with the Hospital Sales Manager to ensure inclusion of Company’s products on formularies and tenders
Together with managed care, completing all documentation necessary for product pricing and ensuring timeous submission to DOH in line with relevant guidelines
Tracking of market share and evaluating any changes in the market to allow fast reaction to competitor activities

Marketing

Launching new products
Ensuring the tools for implementation of the marketing plan and programmes are delivered to the sales force on time
Training of field force as per product requirements, in line with marketing plans
Brief press / relevant media to gain appropriate product exposure
Planning, organizing and attending congresses as required
Developing working relationships with key opinion leaders
