Our client based in Kempton Park in the Agrochemicals Industry is currently recruiting for a Product Manager / Researcher.

The Product Manager will be responsible for increasing the profitability of existing products and for identifying, assessing and developing new product opportunities in order to enhance the current product portfolio. The Product Manager will partner with existing and new customers to analyze needs and develop “outside the box” products and strategies and will be responsible for sourcing and developing new product leads from either internal or external sources. The incumbent will work to develop, prospect and maintain customer relations with customers seeking to enhance their current offerings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on industry experience and contacts with customers and prospects.
Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities, following “DEDVIM” process.
Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research.Analyse collected industry data to highlight trends and optimisation needs for customer
Drive a solution set across internal teams through market requirements, product contracts, and positioning.
Support the overall Sales proposal preparation – including identification of all relevant agreements, and approvals associated with proposed product development opportunities
Conduct thorough financial analysis on all new opportunities using the Return on Investment ("ROI") model.
Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
Development and maintain professional working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams
Attend R&D status meetings and prepare monthly progress reports
Optimize execution based on continuous improvement. Introduce strategy changes based on performance objectives.

OTHER OBLIGATIONS:
Accept responsibility for and manage additional roles and tasks that may be required of you through the normal course of business growth and expansion.
Assist sales personnel with customer complaints and trouble shouting
Accompany sales personnel as and when required to gather information on required projects or to assist with trials
Upkeep and maintaining all product registrations and renewals
Monthly and quarterly reports:
Provide a monthly progress report by the last day of the month on various projects
Provide a quarterly report with financial as well as justification for all variances

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Relevant Degree in Animal science
5-7 years’ experience in managing product development and or research in animal science/nutrition
Knowledge and execution of “DEDVIM” process
Minimum of 10 Years work experience
Strong Microsoft Office Skills
Ideal candidate profile:
