Job Purpose
To plan, direct and coordinate marketing policies and programs related to the job holder's product category, such as determining the demand for the product, competitor analysis and identifying potential customers. Developing pricing strategies for the relevant product category with the goal of maximizing the organisation's profits or share of the market while ensuring that our customers are satisfied and overseeing product development or monitor trends that indicate the need for new products and services.

Responsibilities
Leadership Accountabilities
Lead according to the culture and values of the Business Unit and in accordance with the Company's principles and conduct and action.
To influence and guide the overall effectiveness of the product category through close collaboration with the rest of the team.

Key Accountabilities
Developing a deep knowledge of the market, specifically how it related to the relevant product category, including follow ups on volumes (in tons), value, product mix and competition.
Developing the product category into a profitable product range within the other local businesses.
Lead, coordinate and plan the actions of new product development within the relevant product category.
Ensure that product quality is of the high standards expected.

General Accountabilities
Understand the techniques of product applications and associated materials, as well as the impact of construction techniques (standards, practices) on the substrates on which the products will be fitted.
Use sales forecasting or strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of the product category, analysing business developments and monitoring market trends
Understand the requirements of product users, specifiers, and the relevant distribution channels and decisions making process.
Identify and exploit development and market opportunities for the product.
Consult with R&D and Quality on product specifications such as design, color, packaging and other relevant matters related to the product.
Coordinate or participate in promotional activities or trade shows, working with developers, advertisers, or other relevant internal staff, to market products or services.
Recommend modifications to products, packaging, production processes, or other characteristics to improve the environmental soundness or sustainability of products.
Conduct economic or commercial surveys or market tests to identify potential markets for products or services.
Advise the business on local, national, or international factors affecting the buying or selling of products or services.
Assist in the development of sales action plans, including training and product augmentation, and help develop the proper statistics tables and check their relevancy in time
Apply for the necessary certification and a set warranty system whenever required.

Qualification and Experience
Matric
Marketing or relevant Technical degree
Minimum of 3 years product management experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in the strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resource.
Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and marketing products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Knowledge of relevant information systems, including SAP, Qlickview, Microsoft Office.
Ability to communicate and interact at all levels of the organisation, including at Executive level
