A large financial institution based in Johannesburg, are in urgent need of a Product Operations Manager to provide specialist advice to clients.

Requirements:
BCom or relevant bachelor degree with financial, project management or business subjects
5 years’ relevant experience, including financial, operations or project management experience
Knowledge and understanding of ecommerce and related topics e.g. payments systems

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Budget - Establishing, alignment and management of target and budget goals whilst ensuring effective control of costs for a range of functional areas to increase cost efficiency
Budget - Assisting with and providing input for annual budgets and monthly forecasts. Monitoring of performance against budget
Audit – Assist internal auditors with audits, explaining of processes, compiling evidence as requested from them, liaising with team members and finance to provide info.
Payments – approve expenses and payments in accordance with company mandates
Review operational losses and fraud request forms, in order to fully understand system or process shortcomings in order to implement efficient processes to avoid future incidents.
Assist Operations financial administrator with bank reconciliations, including the clearing of the un-reconciled items, sign off bank recons
Reporting – responsible to compile the monthly CEO report, for review by the Product Head. Provide analysis and insights including performance against budget
Subject matter expert for PayPal – Maintenance of expert knowledge on PayPal products, processes, etc
Facilitate the conversion of knowledge and ideas into new or improved products, processes and services.
Implement and maintain sound business processes that minimise the companies risk and deliver quality requirements specifications.
Ensure that users have the correct system access and level according to their role for PayPal specific systems.
Ensure that all business processes and controls are documented, in accordance with the company’s requirements. Review, update and implement changes to existing policies and procedures if necessary.
Drive efficiencies to ensure streamlined processes.
Ensure escalated queries and exception report items are dealt with in a professional and timely manner. Sign-off on monthly exception report outstanding items.
Assist operational manager to review Frequently asked questions for the PayPal product
Manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including PayPal international
Assist the Head of the Product with daily operations
Prepare analytics, insights and reports as well as related presentations
Represent the business unit at various meetings and forums
Acquire and sustain relationships with external business partners
Translate strategies into actionable foals and execute relevant project/initiative aligned to strategic objectives with specific performance measures and control systems to track progress.
Always look for efficiencies and how member experience can be improved.
Business owner for all PayPal projects and enhancement from inception to final execution, including post implementation evaluation.
Responsible for completing project initiation documents (PID), business requirement specs (brs) and business case templates when required
Represent business at all relevant project forums and provide required input
Compile and or review project documentation to ensure accuracy and identify if all requirement have been met and addressed
Manage the implementation of a project together with the project office to ensure adherence to timelines and stakeholder communication
Establish and maintain positive relationships with project office, tech, rest of forex product house, other areas of the company, etc to aid with the implementation of initiatives, including prioritization.
Manage and monitor the output of direct reports by Setting clear standards to ensure work is of a high quality, Setting clear targets
Check if standard is implemented by monthly review and sign off
Support direct reports by giving guidance, mentoring and assistance in resolving escalated and exception items as well as bank account reconciliations.
