We are looking for an experienced and passionate Product Owner to assist and add value to our development team. Our Dev team is a full-stack workforce that functions within an agile environment. Using our evolving processes, we conceive, specify, design, develop, test, and maintain software applications, frameworks and platforms.

GLI are currently in the process of implementing a company-wide project to increase our scope in the iGaming industry. The Product Owner will conduct thorough business analysis ensuring all aspects of features are clearly defined for our developers, that GLI is compliant with online gaming standards, and help the team achieve their product delivery goals. By acting as the primary liaison for stakeholders, anticipating needs and taking a proactive approach in the project delivery, the product owner ensures value creation for GLI and our clients.

The product owner will collaborate with the development team, prioritizing needs, over-seeing development stages and ultimately motivating and leading the team to successful project delivery.

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Product Owner is to act as a key stakeholder in GLI development teams, to convey
the product vision and goals. The Product Owner aims to maximise business value by strategizing and
prioritising work tasks in each sprint for the development team.

Job Description

• Collaborate with product managers, chief product owner (CPO), stakeholders to understand the vision, strategy and objectives of the product.
• Conveys the product vision and goals clearly to the software development team, motivating developers and creating buy-in for the product.
• Conducts the necessary business analysis to extract and define requirements necessary for development.
• Builds and continuously maintains the product backlog of features, which is prioritised by business value based on the product vision, objectives and goals.
• Builds the product release plan (product roadmap) based on the backlog and estimates of effort in order to provide the CPO a product roadmap. The product owner works with the scrum master and development team in backlog refinement and sprint planning meetings to achieve this.
• Ensures requirements are written and communicated in time for the team to estimate and develop according to product backlog priority.
• Is available to the development team on a full time basis to answer questions and make decisions. This ensures the team is not held up during development and that they deliver according to requirements.
• Performs user acceptance testing of developed features to ensure the products and features built will satisfy the end user needs.
• Acts as the primary link and communicator with the product stakeholders
• Proactive in identifying and understanding the areas of improvement during sprints and communicating clearly to the development team and relevant stakeholders
• Effective change management between all teams and stakeholders
• Product evaluation: Ensures that the product is performing as expected and meeting the end user and business needs
• Accepts delivery of completed user stories (features) and confirms they match requirements and expected quality.

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor Degree in IT, Computer Science, Software or Finance related qualification preferred
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role
• Strong maths, statistics and logical skills
• Ability to read spreadsheets and numbers, genuine love of numbers and the value that can be derived from interrogating them
• Hands-on experience with reporting services and data mining will be useful
• Sound understanding of database principles and relational table structures
• Displays positive attitude
• Demonstrates flexibility in day-to-day work
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Able to think logical and objectively with the ability to think outside of the box and therefore see the bigger picture
• Comfortable working under pressure and successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Results driven with good time management skills
• Good leadership skills in order to obtain appropriate information and to arrange and co-ordinate projects
• Possess a high attention to detail
