PURPOSE:

Combine commercial and pharmaceutical expertise to support and provide direction for the development and maintenance of a comprehensive product portfolio per region. Evaluate new opportunities and determine if strategic fit for product portfolio. The position will develop and execute market segment product development strategies, product introduction and life cycle management plans.

SPECIFIC OUTCOMES / ACCOUNTABILITY

• Function as a product specialist for the commercial product segment of the business, with recommendation having a global impact on product portfolios.
• Develop the commercial product strategy for Global approval.
• Bring together an in depth knowledge of the business with a cross border commercial understanding to develop and guide the development of product portfolio’s per region.
• Determine commercial product portfolios together with data to support the products and develop the corporate strategy for approval.
• Work closely with the sales organization and NBD team to identify product portfolio gaps, needs and enhancements, and use influence in order to close the gaps where possible.
• Analyse sales forecast based on historical data, market conditions, trend analysis and sales projections, and provide reports facilitate centrailsed planning and decision making.
• Work cross regionally to analyse market data and demand behaviour to determine new product pricing strategies.
• Develop product specifications by outlining product requirements, business case justification, product definition and revenue quantification within specific sites cross regionally.
• Provide guidance to the Marketing department for the creation of marketing & sales support materials, marketing promotions and campaigns, etc. that will facilitate the product launch and demand, and oversee the marketing final product.
• Evaluate product opportunities shared with the company as well as identify targets for acquisitions, which will be supported by complete business cases, considering opportunities,and return on Capital Invested.
• Provide market intelligence to the Company global Executive Team to allow market opportunities to be capitalised on.
• Manage and take responsibility for Company’s product pipeline portfolio globally.
• Facilitate cross-learning across countries
• Aligning new product exploration with Company pipeline
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or similar discipline.
• 7 to 10 years of product marketing or product management experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• At least 6 years in management, preferably at least 2 at a senior level.
• Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Previous experience working in a cross functional development environment.
• Motivated self-starter comfortable with tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with the Microsoft suite of products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
• Relationship Management – multiple stakeholders across the organisation;
