Job Description:
Product Sales Specialists work with customers and the Licensing Sales Specialists (or independently with oversight from the CEO) to sell the value proposition of the product to existing clients and markets and grow the volume licensing with related business annuity offerings for the division.
 
Minimum Education Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing, or equivalent experience 3 or more years in a sales position
 
Desired Skills and Experience
  • 5 or more years of Sales and Account Management in electronic payments, financial technologies or financial services
  • Technology service contract negotiation experience
  • Demonstrated track record in new business successes
  • Ability to travel up to 60% within South Africa and Africa
  • Excellent sales, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Detailed software license program knowledge for maintained software vendors such as Microsoft, SAP or Oracle, or potential experience with other software services such as Postilion, S1, Bank World or other payment or issuing industry licensors
  • Detailed knowledge of the effective use of the Microsoft Office suite – Excel and PowerPoint essential
 
Key Focus Areas
  • Building account or territory licensing plans that integrate the currently integrated suppliers into new client licensed implementations  in  line  with  the  sales  strategies,  incorporating  up-  and  cross-selling  of  products  and  services  as Managed Services, as well as support and maintenance of the standard product suite.
  • Building licensing solutions that meet customer needs in the areas of software services
  • Defining,  managing  and  conducting  customer  negotiations  with  the  procurement  officer,  financial  officer  and/or operations officer, and owning this relationship with the Head of Project in the account becoming the trusted advisor for the customer – a licensing consultant in the true sense of the term
  • Growing market share in terms of net new software; services revenue and annuity revenue opportunities within the defined accounts
 
Job Requirements
  • The successful candidate needs to have detailed software license program knowledge for maintained software vendors such as Microsoft, SAP, Adobe, Oracle, Mimecast or Quest, as well as potential experience with other software services such as Postilion, S1, ACI Worldwide Payments Suite or other payment or issuing industry licensors.
  • The candidate needs to be a quick learner to be able to accommodate the ever-changing licensing program structures.
  • Customer service skills are vital.
  • The candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in selling financial services or technologies or alternatively an excellent understanding of software licensing and process requirements.
  • Good knowledge of the effective use of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, is of essential importance.
  • Industry relationships in South Africa and in neighbouring countries within Africa would be most beneficial.
 
Highly Desired Skills
  • Experience selling electronic bill payment and presentment solutions or credit card and ASP services
  • Experience with the consumer finance, utility, insurance, value added services and government verticals
  • Industry Relationships in South Africa and in neighbouring countries within Africa.
