PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT HEAD, GARANKUWA, R35 000

GRADE 12 + PRODUCTION QUAL + EXP IN AUTOMOTIVE / MANUFACTURING IND + EXP IN MAINTAINING ISO 9001:2008 QA SYSTEM ESSENTIAL+ EXP OF MIN 5 YEARS PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT IN SNR LEVEL.

The company requires the services of a Head of Department in the manufacturing plant. To optimise the production process in order to meet the set and agreed KPA’s, i.e. output, material cost and usage, labour cost, quality, customer complaints, waste management, housekeeping, HR, Safety, control of defects and continuous improvement through the effective utilisation of manpower, machinery and material resources. The main functions will include, but is not limited to:
• Managing, direct and monitor the performance of subordinates to ensure critical performance targets are met
• Ensure that sufficient labor of the correct caliber is available within each section to meet daily targets
• Monitor the attendance and time keeping of subordinates, including overtime
• Maintain good housekeeping principals in line with 5s
• Ensure that work standards and standard operating procedures are regularly reviewed
• Monitor and control waste within the department.
• Ensure high standards of quality is maintained
• Maintain ISO 9001:2008 QA system
• Maintain good interpersonal relations within the designated production department
• Improve departmental efficiencies
• Maintain and improve on Mission Directed Work Teams
• Manage department effectively and productively within cost constraints
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Qualifications:
« Grade 12 / N3 or equivalent with mathematics essential
« Tertiary Production qualification or other related tertiary qualification will be an advantage
« Good computer literacy – MS Office, report writing and computerised planning system.
Experience:
« Previous production Management experience with minimum of 5-years exposure
« Production Management experience in an ISO complainant company essential
« Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing in an automotive and/or manufacturing operation will be an advantage
« Working knowledge of production methods essential
« Sound knowledge ISO 9001:2008 essential
« Sound knowledge of Health and Safety principles
« Must have strong motivating/leadership skills
« Sound knowledge to work with people
« Ability to assess and report on staff performance
« Should be up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in management technologies;
« Proven man management skill and IR experience
« Proven ability to supervise and lead employees
« Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety act and regulations
« Experience in relevant manufacturing industry an advantage

Salary: R35,000.00 /month
