Roles and Responsibilities

Principally responsible for oversight of and the accurate and on-time execution of test programs in accordance with contractual requirements. Primary liaison between Experior Labs and its customers/clients with management of mechanical, dynamics, photonics/telecommunications, and general environmental tests and test processes. Responsible for program management and test readiness for aerospace, space, telecommunications, and military qualification programs.

· Manage and oversee qualification test projects for a variety of electrical, aerospace, fiber optic, mechanical and other components and hardware

· Principally responsible for project schedule, test accuracy and compliance with customer provided test plans and statement of work, as well as in some cases product performance assessments and reporting.

· Interact with customers and be responsible for presentation of test results and review of all customer provided test plans, statement of work (technical documentation and otherwise).

· Evaluate test methods and equipment for the simulation of various mechanical and environmental conditions.

· Generates test plans, procedures, and work instructions from customer requirements

· Direct the execution of environmental and mechanical tests in accordance with customer requirements and developed procedures.

· Setup, configure, and operate test setups, fixtures, and instrumentation as required by test plans, test standards, and customer instructions.

· Implement and deploy test fixtures, testing apparatus and machines and verify their appropriateness

· Ensure the accuracy and consistency of data results through thorough documentation processes

· Analyze and present test results and data

· Oversee operation of a variety of computer automated and manual test equipment including environmental chambers, vibration systems, etc and assorted measurement transducers

· Mentor and encourage development of Jr. Test Engineer and Project Engineers (as applicable)

· Share and disseminate technical information and experience via informal presentations, seminars, and white papers.

· Publish and present technical information to a general audience (highly desired)

· Contracting, scheduling, and supervising tests with sub-contracting facilities where required

· Sourcing, obtaining quotations, and selecting required lab supplies and materials to build test fixtures to conduct tests per contractual requirements.

· Design and assemble test fixtures as required per customer requirements, test plan, and test standards

· Validate test methods

· Assist the quoting activity through budgeting and cost / time analysis.

Minimum Requirements (Special Knowledge, Education, Ability and Skills)


· Bachelors degree in relevant engineering discipline

· Demonstrated knowledge of product qualification and testing

· 4+ years of work experience as a project engineer in a relevant discipline.

· Competency in dynamics, structures, materials, and general physics.

· Proficiency in Solidworks, AutoCAD, and/or other design software desirable (not required)

· Must demonstrate hands-on, autonomous nature and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment

· Knowledge of standard business software products (Excel, VBA, Microsoft Office, Outlook, CRM, etc.)

· Ability to comprehend, interpret, and implement industry standard test methodologies

· Strong written and oral communication skill and ability to professionally interact with customers/client.
