We are looking for a Professional individual with the following job requirements:

Matric + 3 Years relevant Technical Tertiary Qualification
3-5 Years Solid Technical experience within Production / Manufacturing environment
2 Years Managerial experience
Driver's license and own Transport
Willing to work overtime and standby

Responsibilities:

Maintenance:

• Mold and Factory Equipment maintenance including Preventative maintenance

Mould maintenance & repairs:

• Draw up a register of all moulds on site & current conditions
• Determine which moulds needs to be refurbished and/or replaced and if more moulds are needed
• Draw up a prioritised schedule for 1 year on how we will refurbish, replace or increase the moulds
• Create mould store with demarcations
• Monitor the condition of the moulds constantly
• Ensure that a mould is in a usable condition before it goes into the mould store
• Ensure minor repairs are done on moulds

Preventative maintenance:

• The preventative maintenance (weekly,monthly,500hrs) are completed on all machines
• Chain slack on the specific machine is monitored and kept within acceptable limits.
• Critical spares- Ensure that critical spares are available for all machines. E.g.: set of blades for powder king/Webs
• Moulds are kept in a usable condition at all times.

Mould changes:

• Ensure that mould changes are done as speedily as possible through:
• Preparing the mould before it goes to the machine
• Having the mould ready next to the machine before a changeover.
• Ensure all spares are available for the changeover – web, bolts & nuts, spanners, etc.
• Changeover is planned in conjunction with the production with timing and assistance from stripping crew.

Quality:

• Ensure production requirements are met with the Company's Quality Standard
• Draw up quality checklists for each department which conform to SABS standard
• Identify all quality parameters that need to be inspected
• Ensure that quality checks are done daily on production manufactured departments
• Ensure interdepartmental quality is of the highest standard
• Investigate quality complaints from customers and implement remedies to eliminate the complaint in future
• Ensure that the products manufactures in the Company to the SABS and Agrément standards
• Ensure the systems in the company conform to the SABS Standards
• Draw up the necessary procedures and systems to enable the Company to keep its SABS mark

Safety:

• Ensure health and safety requirements are met
• Assist MD in implementing the OHSA file for the Company as a whole
• Ensure that the shop floor is adhering to the OHSA. iro PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Assist in arranging training for the OHSA requirements such as first aid/ firefighting etc.
• Be the on-site Health and Safety officer for the Company
• Ensure that all registers are up to date and all inspections are done accurately, e.g. guarding/electrical equipment/
• Discipline employees if they are contravening OHSA

Manufacturing:

• Measurement of daily production
• Responsible the roto moulding, milling & mixing departments
• Support and assist on technical matters regarding these departments
• Ensure that production and quality targets are met in these departments.
• Ensure efficient stock levels are achieved
• Scrap measurement, reduction and development of ways of reduction in scrap

Special Projects:

• Plan, lead, organise and control all special and customer related projects
• Run with projects from the initiation till completion with relevant sales representative
• Develop a prototype and iron out teething problems
• Draw up parts lists and drawings with parties so that we have records of the final design

Staff:

• Monitoring of clock cards and ensuring of accuracy thereof
• Determine what shifts are needed to complete requirements
• Communication with the HR department if problems arise with staff
• Discipline of employees
