Company based in Johannesburg West, specialising in the Health Food & Supplements, Cosmetics and Toiletries manufacturing, requires a Production Manager experienced in HACCP, GMP, Production, SHEQ, Staff and Finance management. Must have knowledge of ISO standards in industry. Must have minimum 4 years Production Management experience in Food/Pharmaceutical/Cosmetics industry. Shift work.

Matric
Degree/Diploma in relevant field
4 years' management experience in a food production environment covering Production, SHEQ, Staff and Finance

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production Management:
Manage the Production facilities
Makes recommendations for capacity increases to meet sales demands
Manage operations in the production process and eliminate unaccounted losses
Ensure that the Production plan meets customers' requirements
Monitor CSI inefficiencies, make recommendations and implement improvements
Monitor OEE losses, make recommendations and implement improvements
Diagnose plant problems (fault finding) and liaise with the relevant stakeholders
Analyse and interpret process data and make changes to eliminate inefficiencies
Drive process optimisation and improvements
Processing:
Achieve production targets as per the Production Plan
Keep up to date with raw material processing and implements improvements to deliver optimal results
Quality:
Monitor and control Quality Assurance practices in the Production environment
Monitor and control HACCP, QCP and ISO and comply with HACCP, QCP and ISO requirements
Conduct Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and Key Business Process (KBP) Audits
Stores:
Authorise stores requisitions
Monitor and control issues of critical items
Reporting:
Manage Production information on the SAP system
Determine Departmental KPI's
Monitor yields and investigate variances
Compile the monthly budget Report
6 Sigma:
Achieve 6-Sigma targets in line with Company objectives
Participate in planned 6-Sigma activities in line with Company objectives
SHE Management:
Manage safety in the Production environment
Comply with Organisational Standards and requirements
Comply to Legislation as set out in the OSH Act
Apply personal safety practices in the Production environment
Conduct Risk Assessments
Audits:
Participate in SHE Audits and action SHE audit findings
Close out all SHE investigations and quality non-conformances
Housekeeping:
Manage safety and housekeeping in a consumer production environment
Policies and Procedures:
Manage documentation and records within the Quality Management System
Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Quality Management System
Comply with requirements of the Quality Management System
Legislation:
Monitor and keep up to date with changes in production Legislation and comply with the relevant production Legislation
Identify and interpret related legislation and its impact on the function and ensure compliance
Finance:
Financial Management:
Manage the Departmental budget
Identify sources of waste and take actions to minimise waste
Customers:
Customer Relations:
Liaise with a range of customers
Supplier Relations:
Liaise with a range of suppliers
People:
People Management:
Lead and manage the Business Unit
Manage individuals and the process team
Address corrective actions promptly within division and ensure relevant documentation is filed
Communicate the unit results and achievements to the team
Manpower Planning:
Plan, organise and allocate work
Re-allocate labour and other resources as required
Training and Development:
Manage skills, training and development in line with Personal Development Plans (PDP's)
Compile Personal Development Plans and Work Plans in line with KPI's
Compile and submit Divisional WSP
Coach and counsel employees
Career Development & Succession Planning:
Ensure Succession Planning where needed is pro-actively approached
Manage the Career Development of Divisional Staff
Performance Management:
Identify reasons for non-conformances (learning gaps, poor performance, etc.) and take appropriate action
Conduct Performance Management and appraisals of Staff as Per Policy
Reward excellence and manage substandard performers
Sign off and submit Divisional Annual Performance Assessments for Annual Increases
Policies:
Ensure HR Policies and Company Communication are disseminated to relevant stakeholders promptly

Payroll:
Ensure Payroll Compliance at all times with the relevant documents submitted on time for payroll processing
Sign off on the weekly & monthly payroll processing time sheets of divisional staff
General HR:
Ensure HR and Legislative Compliance within division at all times
Ensure optimal Leave Management of Division
