MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To plan, organize, control and carry out day to day operational aspects of the Breeder operations, focusing on quality egg production, with the key objectives being to achieve Company standards of production and quality through maximum productivity and profitability, without compromising farm standards, stock welfare or employee relations.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

• Approximately 10 years poultry experience.
• 4-5 Years management experience.
• Graduate in Agriculture/Poultry Management definite advantage.
• Knowledge of bio-security and animal welfare standards.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Good planning, organizing and execution skills.
• Computer skills in Word and Excel.
• Leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and results driven.
• Responsible and accountable.
• Valid driver’s license.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Managing all production related activities in order to achieve optimal production output efficiencies.
• Implement and ensure strict compliance of bio security rules and regulations.
• Ensure full optimization of all farm equipment, machinery and structures.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation as well as Company policies and procedures.
• Provide the necessary leadership and guidance to ensure that staff is motivated, committed and performing consistently to the operating standards and company policies.
• Manage the flow of production information utilizing the farm operating system and EPIDS.
• Consistently complete and process the required farm administration.
• Foster a culture of customer service and high performance within the operations department.
• Any other reasonable duties that may be required, from time to time.
