Production Manager
Adhesives, Grouts and Liquids

We are looking for a Production Manager (only EE Candidates need apply) in Alrode, JHB, for the management of operations of Adhesive, Grouts and Liquids Manufacturing according to defined utilisation and efficiency standards in order to meet sales and profitability targets.

The following main activities will be required by the Production Manager:
Scheduling production and maintenance/production planning.
Ensuring that the Plant has minimum downtime.
Ensuring quality control, labour control, production control, transport and delivery, stock of raw materials/finished products.
Creating and ensuring safe working conditions at all times.
Ensuring that the Safety , Environmental and Health policies and procedures are maintained and adhered to.
Coaching and developing the shift leaders in order to achieve the goals and objectives of the company
Managing staff requirements and directing the production teams.
Organise, monitor and control staff, shifts and overtime.
Cost controlling and raw materials planning/ordering.
Ensure that production orders are completed asper plnning and that the correct usage of raw material are maintained.
Liaise with various internal departments such as sales, finance, R&D ,maintenance ,Warehouse , projects to ensure that maximum productivity and profitability is attained.
All such duties and/or activities assigned by the Plant Manager, Management/board as and when required.
Co-ordinate all WCM activities on the Production lines.
Correlate all production figures per line and communicate these figures to the Plant Manager and the OEE Administrator.
Ensure that the Problem solving boards and OEE boards are maintained and updated.
Co-ordinate the maintenance of the plant with maintenance.
Ensure that the Quality standards of the products are maintained.

A successful Candidate will meet ALL of the following requirements:
Minimum National Diploma in Production Management.
Matric with English and Mathematics.
Trade Tested (Red Seal) Artisan – Mechanical OR Millwright Discipline.
WCM training (certificate or in-house) and working experience in a WCM plant environment.
At least 5 Years’ manufacturing experience in a managerial position.
Must have understanding of the technical aspects of adhesives, grouts and liquids and the technical challenges that arise.
Computer literate (MS Office and SAP).
Knowledge and experience with all related legislation (IR related, Factory related, Health, Safety & Environmental related).
Knowledge and experience in the management and implementation of a Quality Management System.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Problem solving skills.
Experience in budgeting and controlling of manufacturing expenses.
Drivers License.
RSA Citizen.
No Criminal Record.
