Our client looking for a Production Manager for a PVC extrusion and injection moulding factory. The individual will be required to be involved with the planning, coordination and control of the manufacturing processes. To ensure that goods are produced efficiently at the right cost and level of quality. A large part of the production management role involves dealing with people and motivating those who work in direct and indirect team. The factory employs 282 employees and is a 24/ 7 operation, producing 1 500 Tons of finished product per month.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manufacturing targets are achieved in machine utilization, scrap levels and labour productivity
• Ensure superintendents do module training weekly
• Maintain compliance with ISO 8001:2007
• Ensure continuous improvement
• Address non-conformances
• Execute corrective actions on time
• Manage fixed and variable cost on a daily basis
• An annual factory budget is produced and managed professionally
• Ensure organization structure supports strategy
• Ensure effective performance reviews are in place and done twice a year
• Manage Industrial Relations professionally and productively
• Ensure compliance with OHSAS 18001
• Continuous review of systems and ensure all are committed
• Target dates to be adhered to
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Maintain a high level of internal service delivery
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency, motivation, and tenacity in achieving object

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric or equivalent
• Tertiary qualification in Production Management or similar
• 5 - 10 years’ experience in Plastic Manufacturing environment
• Practical hands on Management style
• Motivation of employees within a manufacturing environment
• Implementation of best practice process and standards within a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrate confidence, good communication skills and Production knowledge/experience
• Must be computer literate
• Must have sense of urgency
• Hardworking

Salary on offer: R40 000 – R45 000pm
