Young university graduate (4 year course) mechanical engineer or qualified fitter and turner/millwright artisan required for position of Production Manager based in Silverton, Pretoria. 5 - 8 years on the job experience as a production manager is essential. Position involves management of the ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 system for production/maintenance and managing about 25 persons. Job entails carrying out maintenance of the world class machinery, the production process and the delivery to a large number of international manufacturing clients. Good interpersonal and communication skills required. Experience in planning, logistics and trouble- shooting essential.Person must have hands on management style experience, be prepared to work hard, take responsibility, have an eye for detail and want a career in production. May consider an electrical engineer, but incumbent must have mechanical skills as well.
