A renowned Company is looking for a Production Manager:

Measurement
Performance will be measured against the quantitative and qualitative business plan targets for the relevant department
Mission
Tasks & Responsibilities:


To ensure that the Targets (Quality, Cost, Delivery) are achieved in the area responsibility.
To train and develop people within the team
Maintain safety standards in the area of responsibility
Drive cost improvement initiatives through PDCA and continuous improvement practices
Maintain equipment standards (through TPM schedules)
Maintain lead time plan of the jobs in the area of responsibility.
Maintain task sequencing and task allocation in the area of responsibility
Ensure all agreed production standards (APSYS) are maintained and adhered to in the area of responsibility.
Candidate Requirements
Educational Requirements:

• Minimum: Relevant Diploma / Degree (preferably Mechanical / Electrical/ Industrial Engineering). MDP or relevant Business management qualification will be an added advantage. In addition, at least 5 years manufacturing, management experience. Preference will be given to candidates with management experience gained in a lean manufacturing environment.

Desired Knowledge / Experience & Behaviour:
• Must be able lead and motivate a group of approx. 100 people towards achieving a set of predefined targets
• Must have a practical, working knowledge of labour-relations policies and procedures in the South African labour context.
• Must be able to communicate effectively at different levels with the organisation
• Must display high levels of integrity, ethics and morals.
• Must be extremely disciplined wrt to time management
• Must have a high regard for customer/ supplier relationships
• Must be knowledgeable of best practice principles
• Must be flexible to work outside of normal operational boundaries to support team targets
• Must display strong business acumen, particularly wrt to cost consciousness, efficiency improvements and profit generation. Cross discipline skills.
• Must have conceptual thinking skills
• Must be Analytical
• Must have decision-making & problem solving skills
• Presentation skills
• Must be computer literate.
