Senior Production Manager job description

Job Brief:

Els & Co. is a fast-growing start up company in search of a senior production manager. We are in the business of reviving old craftsman techniques to hand craft leather accessories that are beautiful, functional and will last a lifetime. We only work with the best quality materials in manufacturing our luxury leather products. We espouse great quality, great customer service, team work, and creating a company that will grow to be a hundred years old.

In this role you will be required to work independently with little supervision. You should have excellent organisation and problem-solving skills. People and management skills are essential as you’ll be leading a team of more than a dozen crafts-women, training them to acquire skills, and problem solving issues experienced in the production of our goods.

We aim to provide only the best quality product with the best quality service and therefore only seek applicants that can demonstrate a passion for both. As we are still a start-up company it is a high-pressure environment that demands hard work, dedication and buying into our values and vision.

Responsibilities:
Manage a steadily growing team of craftswomen on a daily basis
Ensure production stays on track and is shipped on time
Quality control
Packing and shipping of completed goods
Problem solve issues with production
Managing training of craftswomen
Stock control and ordering materials
Basic admin (no bookkeeping)
Client liaison via email, telephone, in person, etc
Design and manufacturing of prototype products
Updating of the Els & Co. website

Requirements:
Proven experience as a manager in a goods manufacturing company
Extensive experience in managing a team of people with great people skills
Some experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop will count in your favour
Ability to work independently
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
Diligent eye for detail and a sense of aesthetics
Be able to follow instructions
Be able to take initiative
Must be able to work under the pressure of a start up company
