My client, a leading FMCG concern is looking for a hands-on Production Manager. Reporting to the General Manager you will manage the on-site Production Teams.

Purpose of the role:

Reduce production costs and increase throughput on quality product
Single point of accountability for daily production
Ensuring that all products are consistently produced according to production plan.(in full, on time and within production efficiency targets and quaility standards.

Key responsibilities:

Development and implementation of production plan in line with customer orders
Coordination of production teams in accordance with production plan and equipment availability
Drive conrtinuous improvement of throughput and staff productivity
Apply appropriate measures and actions to drive down waste and improve yield
Manage departmental budget
Enforce housekeeping and factory disciplines
Allocate and manage factory resources to execute immediate priorities
Motivate and schedule factory teams
Ensure goods are produced to the required quality and food safety specifications
Coordinate with other organizational functions (eg, Maintenance, Quality, Logistics and Finance) to ensure that various standards are met and actions are executed to rectify below-standard aspects.

Minimum requirements:

Grade 12
Relevant tertiary qualification will be a plus
A minimum of 5 years'experience in FMCG manufacturing environment is essential
Good knowledge of production planning and operational efficiencies
Proven experience in delivering, managing and controlling large projects on time and in full.
Proven experience in managing planning and process flows.
