OUR CLIENT URGENTLY NEEDS A PRODUCTION PHARMACIST
B. Pharm, Honour’s Degree-NQF7; Diploma in Pharmacy

1 AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:    
     
1.1  To ensure that quality products are packaged according to Good Manufacturing Practices by supervising the line leaders and checking the work that they produce is at the correct standard. Furthermore, also to ensure that the equipment is maintained.
 
2.  GMP RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
2.1 Ensure effective short-term planning regarding staffing resources based on production forecasts in order to meet the production targets.
2.2 Ensure that goods are produced and packaged to meet Customer requirements.
2.3 Ensure goods produced and packaged meet the quality specifications set by Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
2.4 Ensure that all Procedure documentation is up-to-date incorporating any procedural changes, adhered to at all times and within their period of expiry.
2.5 Assist the Plant Engineer and Validations Officer with the validation plan(s) and processes, providing specialist input and participating in the final review of the findings.
2.6  Ensure that goods are produced and packaged to meet Customer Requirements.

3. OPERATIONAL FOCUS:

3.1 Ensure that all packaging is done according to the Good Manufacturing Practices, such as supervising that the line leaders maintain the work area.
3.2 Update Standard Operating Procedures for the Packaging Department as and when required.
3.3 Ensure that packaging rejects are handled according to the Medicine Control Councils guidelines. 
3.4 Ensure that all equipment is calibrated at the necessary and correct times. 
3.5 Reconcile documents to ensure that there are no discrepancies between materials issued and materials used. 
3.6 Supervise staff in accordance with Pharmachem  HR policies and procedures. 
3.7  Ensure that all materials are available for packaging.
 
4. CUSTOMER FOCUS:

4.1  Liaise with the warehouse to ensure that the packaging department receives their materials when needed.
4.2  Liaise with quality assurance to ensure that the packaged products are at the correct standard for release.
4.3  Ensure that the products are packed according to prescribed standards in terms of the amounts required and within the required times. 
4.4  Liaise with the calibrating agents to ensure that they calibrate the machines when required.
 
5. STAFF FOCUS:

5.1 Ensure the ongoing development and enhancement of staff skills and potential in order to achieve levels of competency as well as exceed personal performance excellence (nurture talent).
5.2 Ensure the timeous and appropriate staffing, resourcing and deployment of resources in order to support the set departmental objectives.
5.3 Ensure the implementation of performance management within the specific area of responsibility.
5.4 Create and maintain a conducive working environment within the department to ensure high levels of morale, performance, motivation, mutual respect and team spirit.
5.5 Ensure the maintenance of discipline and adherence to internal processes and codes of conduct relating to the specific area of responsibility.
 
6. GENERAL:         
   
6.1.1 Pro-active in all areas of the business, in particular, building quality in the product.
6.1.2 Any other requirements that management may have from time to time.
 
EDUCATION – “SCHOOL”: Matric Certificate
POST SCHOOL: (Professional/Technical Academic)
B. Pharm, Honour’s Degree-NQF7; Diploma in Pharmacy

Typical career path: 1 to 3 Years in Pharmaceuticals

Job Knowledge:
• Medicines and Related Substances Control Act, Act 101 of 1965, as amended and SAPC Act, Act 53 of 1974, as amended
• SA Guide to GMP
• Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Documentation
Writing and updating of SOPs
• Conducting internal inspections
• Handling of Recalls/ Batch withdrawals and Mock Recalls
• Handling of Customer complaints and Change Controls
 
Job Related Skills:

Job Experience:
• 1 to 3 years Production Pharmacist experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Environment

Salary
