Direct report: Head of Compounding Laboratory

Job Objective
• Responsible for all duties related to being a pharmacist according to Pharmacy Law and best practice
• Responsible for serving customers and patients and counseling on medication and supplements
• Responsible for interpreting and evaluating prescriptions face to face, telephonic and email
• Responsible for dispensing, charging, labeling and packaging prescriptions and orders
• Responsible for script and invoice validations
• Responsible for answering phones, assisting with queries and responding to patient inquiries
• Responsible for charging doctors and IMC staff
• Responsible for assisting with receiving, signing off and balancing of Schedule 6 stock and registers
• Responsible for stock levels and stock re-odering S6
• Responsible for drafting info on the product of the month one pager

Summary of Job description:

• Evaluate, interpret, dispense, label, package and charge prescriptions
• Provide medication counseling face to face, telephonically and by email to patients and customers
• Answer phones, assist with queries, resolve complaints and queries
• Liaise with doctors regarding patient scripts and assisting doctors and health professionals with queries
• Validate scripts
• Assisting with Compounding lab validation when necessary
• Assist with validating and monitoring of dispensing of RX's by assistants
• Keeping updated on product knowledge and attend training
• Assist with quarterly stock take
• Assist with promoting and designing product of the month
• Ensuring correct professional records are kept and maintained (S6& 5)
• Upholding good housekeeping and keeping working areas orderly and tidy
• Charging doctors and IMC staff at preferential rates

Requirements:
• Relevant pharmacy qualification - Bachelor of Pharmacy
• Registration with South Africa Pharmacy Council
• Experience with working in the compounding laboratory
• Experiencing working in a retail environment
• Ability to research medicine and healthcare queries
• Ability to delegate and coach pharmacy assistants
• Continuous education in Functional medicine
