Our client is the global leader in modem technology for HF and VHF radio communications. They serve customers in Military, Naval, commercial, and government/security markets requiring satellite independent, world-wide communications. They are a world leader in the area of high-end embedded, tactical, naval and strategic beyond line-of-sight (BLOS) modem technology and data networking solutions.

Their products facilitate legacy analogue radios becoming part of a secure digital communications network. Smart phone-like services over radio are a reality. These include digital voice, email and SMS. Our client provides embedded modems for many of the major global radio manufacturers and a range high performance modems including specialist modems and tactical data terminals conforming to Military standards.

Requirements
Tertiary Education Requirements:
• Matric
• Advantage: Relevant PCB & PCA Quality courses done (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC-A-600)
• Nice to have: IPC-7711, IPC-7721 Repair, rework and IPC assembly course
Industry exposure required:
• 2 + Years in electronics industry
General Knowledge and experience required:
• PCB quality control according to IPC-A-600 class II (incl. relevant class III)
• PCB assembly quality control according to IPC-A-610 class II and III
• Soldering quality according to J-STD-001 class III
• Quality control of items to be built into units
General Knowledge and experience preferred:
• Assembled product quality control
• Supplier liaison: PCBs(bare boards) quality reporting
PCB assemblies quality reporting
• Release QC (Performing quality control at PCB assemblers)
• Administration of quality control
• Quality control of components
Other skills/abilities:
• Good interpersonal communication
• Own transport vehicle, not motor cycle
Neat onto themselves
• Well organized, Self-Managed, Self-Motivated
• Precision orientated a must
• Process orientated a must
• Basic fault finding capabilities in Electronics a plus
• Fast learner
• A Practical DIY type of attitude
• Fast adaptation to change in tasks and schedules
• Ability to schedule own work
• Ability to schedule suppliers’ deliveries
• ESD awareness a must
• Advanced modification experience a plus
• IT literate
• Experienced in Excel, Word, Outlook and Internet browsers
• We require a person that does not need assistance in delivering quality products, this should be a given through the self-driven quality
