Salary range: R220k – R290k CTC PA

Biographic Requirements:
• The ideal candidate will be a seasoned 2IC with more than 5 years’ experience and who relishes responsibility, accountability and delivery, be able to think on his/her feet, a lateral thinker who thrives in a highly pressurized environment

Qualifications:
• Matric
• Code 8 driver license (essential)
• Computer Literacy in MS Office (essential)
• Trade Certificate (Preferred)
• Tertiary Production Qualification (Preferred)
• Project Management Qualification (Advantageous)

Skills and Knowledge:
• Must have knowledge in production planning functions
• Management skills, communication skills and Leadership skills is required

Experience:
• Experience as a Production 2IC is essential, experience in production within the Steel and Engineering industry is preferred
• Experience in a Management position (50 employees or more) is essential

Duties
• Carry out effective production planning
• Allocate, control and manage resources to ensure effective flow of production
• Control the movement of products through the production process against pre-planned schedules
• Identify production backlogs or short falls in quantities
• Report problems or situation to Foreman so that appropriate actions can be taken to solve the problems
• Ensure that all work done on production line is on standard and adheres to quality standards
• General assistance to line Foreman
• Ensure that all parts and components are on the production lines
• Liaise with logistical department to ensure that there are no shortages
• Good housekeeping of production lines
• Manage and lead employees and enforce discipline and attend to HR matters
