To ensure the effective functioning of the Department through the supervision of people, operational processes and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
Matric
Previous experience in manufacturing and production industry
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
MAIN DUTIES:
Ensure effective productivity of the department through supervision of staff, operational processes and procedures.
Promote a safe working environment and ensure that staff follow the safety regulations.
Plan coordinate and supervise the daily operations and functions of the staff within the department.
Daily feedback meetings with factory manager and regular meetings with staff.
Monitor daily work performance and offer coaching and training where needed.
Ensure stable production and production targets are met.
Perform quality checks and maintain the quality requirements according to the ISO standards, e.g processing of damaged and scrap products.
Ensure the machinery is maintained and is in good working order by adhering to the required checks of the machine maintenance schedule and to report machinery issues timeously.
Develop, maintain and manage standard operating procedures (SOP).
Manage workplace issues ie discipline, counselling and grievances.
Increase productivity through lateral thinking.
Induct new staff according to the requirements of the SOP with the relevant quality checks and ISO procedures.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Complete job cards and submit daily
Drive targets achievement
Perform quality checks.
Ensure that all machines are in a good working condition.
Ensure completed job cards are analysed and submitted daily along with relevant recommendations
Maintain health and safety regulations.
Complete, analyse and submit the machine productivity schedule with recommendations to the Factory Manager on a daily basis.
Complete, analyse and submit the staff productivity schedule with recommendations to the Factory Manager on a daily basis.
Adhere to health and safety rules and regulations.
Wear relevant Personal Protective Equipment e.g. safety masks (PPE)
Housekeeping:
clean work areas
Ensure overall cleanliness and tidiness of the Department
Switch plugs off after work
Assist with stocktaking
Attend all scheduled meetings
