A dynamic Healthcare company is urgently looking for a HSS Programme Advisor for the Maternal Health (Women & Child Health) to support the implementation of the Health Systems Strengthening project with an emphasis on leading the implementation of the Women and Child Health technical programme at the district and provincial level

Key performance areas

• Support the formulation and implementation of the Technical strategy
• Represent technical and organizational strategic objectives externally
• Provide technical expertise on Women and Child care at district and provincial level DoH and
• stakeholders meetings
• Contribute to the development/revision of DoH policies and plans at the district, provincial and national level
• Lead the development and implementation of special projects relating to Women’s health at the Provincial level
• Identify gaps within women and child health and patient management systems at the facility, subdistrict and district level
• Provide strategic direction and input to address identified gaps at the facility, sub-district and district level and to ensure effective implementation of the Women and Child technical strategy.
• Collaborate with the DCSTs to address gaps or implement key projects at the district level relating to women and child health
• Generate reports / publications on activity outputs in the technical area
• Ensure appropriate dissemination of publications and reports
• Research Design, Implementation and Dissemination
• Identify research questions in the specialist area
• Participate in the writing of concept notes and research protocols in order to carry out pertinent
• research
• Ensure appropriate dissemination of the research findings
• Produce publications and/or reports relating to the programme area
• Lead the technical strategy for Quality Improvement interventions relating to Women’s Health
• Support the implementation of Quality Improvement activities at the district level, with a particular focus on women and child health improvement activities
• Develop or disseminate appropriate tools to implement the technical objectives
• Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate progress on implementation plans
• Coach and train internal and external stakeholders in the area of women and child health to ensure transfer of knowledge
• Participate in monitoring women and child health technical support activities
• Collaborate with the M&E team to monitor progress towards project outcomes relating to women and child health
• Maintain relevance as a clinical expert in the field of HIV and Women and Child health
• Facilitate case discussions internally and externally
• Perform clinical duties as assigned
• Attend relevant conferences and workshops
Education
• MBBCh or equivalent
• HIV Management qualification. HIV diploma/ equivalent
• Master’s in Public Health / Epidemiology
• Registration with HPCSA
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the public health sector
• Minimum 2 years of experience in HIV medicine and Women and Child health
• Experience in working with donor funded programmes
• Experience in training and lecturing
• Ability to understand and manage team dynamics with particular reference to matrix structures
• Strong organizational skills with an accurate approach to work, attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Advanced Microsoft Office skills
