Programmes Officer: Science and Technology

Job Purpose
To plan, coordinate and Manage subject specific teacher development projects, events activities in Gauteng province and at Sci-Bono.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Management and administration of specified GDE education programmes and Implementation & roll out of MST strategy that focuses on (a) MST Teaching (b) MST Resources
2. To develop, align and quality assure and give advices on the training manuals and other MST Resources
3. To procure for the services that are required for projects when need arises.
4. Plans and budget of the Teacher development programmes.
5. To recruit, train and place Master Trainers in their respective training venues in Gauteng.
6. Liaison with GDE, head office and district officials for curriculum coordination and alignment.
7. To develop, implement and document the processes and systems needed to make the programme run effectively and conducting the Monitoring & Evaluation of projects.
8. To liaise with teacher training institutions, organizations, SETAs and universities.

Key Requirements:
• Graduate qualification in Science Education
• 3 years experience in the education programmes / projects
• 5 years Experience in the education sector
• Project management
• Computer literacy
• Teacher training
• Ability to develop collaborative relationships
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule & including weekends
• Valid driver’s license
