Join this successful investment company. As Project Accountant you will be assisting with optimising the client’s distribution department’s monthly financial and MIS reporting, and will be responsible to fill the position of project accountant to the department. Take charge of special adhoc reporting requirements, assistance with the annual and interim audit process, compilation of annual financial statements, financial analysis of margins, ratio’s and key drivers.

Minimum Requirements
• B.Com (Hons) in Accounting/B.Acc (Hons) or CA(SA)
• Computer literacy; Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Knowledge of AccPac, IDU and Qlikview recommended
Preferred Requirements
• Recently qualified CA(SA)
• Completed articles
• Good knowledge of complex accounting standards recommended

Key Responsibilities
Management information
• Streamline and automate to extent possible month-end financial reporting procedures to ensure accurate consolidated divisional reports are produced timeously.
• Assist with developing of various reports based on the needs of the different stakeholders in
• the Division
• Assist with developing of management reports by including non-financial information from different data sources
• Compile financial reports in the required group reporting format.
• Compare actual performance to budget and prior year and obtain reasons for variances
• Identify and investigate unusual financial trends and anomalies to ensure that actual
• performance is a true reflection of business performance and results achieved
• Assist develop financial models to allow for forecasting of future financial performance
• Assist management with analysis of key business drivers and margins
• Audit & annual and interim financial statements
• Assist with compiling the 14 audit packs for the client’s Distribution Division.
• Completion of Annual Financial Statements for the approximately 14 companies within client’s
divisions
• Assist Financial Managers & CFO with more complex reconciliations & calculations for audit
• purposes
Special projects
• Collating information and compiling reports for any ad hoc requests In charge of various
• Distribution projects, currently 3 primary projects:
- Contract Project: ensure correct contract in place with financial advisor and correct
- Tax treatment for each advisors/entity; also ensure continuous compliance
- Completeness and accuracy of income project: Distribution. Liaise with product providers to ensure completeness and accuracy of income, as well as classification
- Return on Assets project: assisting IT with the necessary information as well as testing the accuracy of results produced
• Will be the link between the MIS information and Financial information, to ensure that
• information provided are accurate and complete
• Looking at various ways to enhance MIS/Financial information for the management team of
• Distribution
Routine tasks
• Compiling MIS information on a monthly basis for reporting to various stakeholders, for
example the CEO of Distribution, regional managers, sales team within client’s different divisions
• Take overall responsibility for evaluating/monitoring/budgeting of Marketing cost across thE Group
• Authorisation of electronic payments for Distribution
