A leading retailer based in Cape Town is seeking a dynamic and ambitious Project Accountant to join their finance team. The role will start off as a 12-14 Month Contract role with the idea of the position becoming permanent.



Qualification:

CA (SA)



Skills & Experience:

Sound knowledge of accounting systems, standards and principles

Sound knowledge of financial statutory requirements

Advanced user knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office products



Job Description:

Review, produce and present monthly and ad-hoc reports, variance analysis, financial modelling and any supporting schedules.

Manage finance projects and investigations across the different areas of finance.

Support the Finance Managers across the business.

Ensure appropriate financial controls and policies exist that address requirements.

Mitigate risk through the review, implementation and monitoring of internal control processes.

Provide financial reporting support where required.

Ensure improvement opportunities in financial processes are identified and actioned as appropriate.

Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost saving/revenue generating opportunities.

On a periodic basis, conduct reviews of rebates and other allowances within the Merchandise area to ensure that all income contractually agreed is recovered.

Conduct other reviews as required and ensure the implementation of improved financial controls and where appropriate, recover over charges or under recovered income.
