Project Coordinator – Business & Information Systems skills

Job Summary:

Fetola are Cape Town based business growth professionals specialising in enterprise and supplier development. Our purpose is to accelerate the success of hundreds of small businesses across the country. The company has a small head office in Plumstead with a national network of stakeholders. This is an exciting dual role for a capable, energetic individual to be responsible for coordinating the successful implementation of our programmes, and assist with the development and maintenance of information systems within the organisation.
The chosen candidate will assist with roll out & monitoring of growth support for entrepreneurs in a range of sectors nationally. The candidate will play an important role in identifying, creating and implementing new information systems and technology solutions in the organisation.The role requires proven analytical skills, and a passion for problem solving and IS skills.

Experience and Training:

1. University degree in Business Management, Project Management, Entrepreneurship, Information Systems or related
2. Proven Information Systems skills
3. Prior work experience, 1-2 years in similar field
4. Database management experience
5. Advanced computer skills including MS Office Suite
6. SQL and MySQL experience (non-negotiable)

Core Competencies:

Proven project management skills, effective written and verbal communications, the ability to work effectively without close supervision, and comfort with technology is required. Candidate should have a passion for, and skill in solving problems, and be meticulous and detail-orientated. Candidate should be self-motivated, flexible, open to learning and enthusiastic, culturally sensitive and personable; as well as a keen fast learner, able to prioritise and manage own time. In short, they should be a reliable and committed team member.

Key Tasks:

General
1. To coordinate programme implementation (monitoring, training, mentoring etc.); and
2. Maintain contact with the local participating entrepreneurs and link this progress to the national programme framework.

Information Systems:

1. Day to day maintenance of IT infrastructure;
2. Creating new or improving data processing solutions;
3. Internal IT skills training – as required; and
4. Website and email maintenance.
